COVID-19 Telehealth/In-person Treatment UPDATE

If you have questions or concerns about obtaining counseling during COVID-19, please feel free to call, leave a voicemail, or email.

Barring an unexpected change in public health orders, starting June 28, 2021 I will resume seeing clients in-person in my office at 2400 Fenton Street, Suite 205, Chula Vista, CA, 91914. Until that date, ALL sessions will still be held via telehealth.

Please read the entire message below for essential information about this change.

In-person sessions are optional. Before deciding if you want to resume in-person sessions, please start by informing me that you are interested in returning to the office by sending me a message through your client portal (new clients must create a portal and schedule an appointment first). This will prompt me to assign the Covid-19 In-person Treatment Consent form to your client portal. Next, please go to your client portal, click on My Docs & Forms, and review the Covid-19 In-person Treatment Consent. Finally, after reading this form, if you decide you wish to do your sessions in person, sign and submit this form. If you do not sign and submit this form prior to your session, you will not be seen in-person.

If you would like to attend your sessions in-person: Please make sure you do not check the “Telehealth Session” box when you are scheduling your appointments online. In-person sessions are only available to clients who are fully vaccinated against covid-19 (must be two weeks after your second Pfizer/Moderna shot or single Johnson & Johnson shot). If you prefer not to get a covid-19 vaccine or if you prefer not to discuss your vaccination status, that is up to you, but you must continue telehealth sessions.

Jeff has been fully vaccinated and will not be wearing a mask during sessions.

If you prefer to continue your sessions via telehealth: you may do so for as long as you want and/or as long as your insurance covers it. You must check the “Telehealth Session” box every time you schedule. This is the only way I will know that you intend to have your session via telehealth. Please note, you are responsible for any fees you may incur if your insurance stops covering telehealth without notice.

Until June 28, 2021, I am conducting all sessions (including sessions for new clients) remotely via telehealth video (System Requirements and Troubleshooting). I will automatically switch all sessions to telehealth status in your client portal when you schedule, so the only additional action you need to complete before your first telehealth session is to log in to your client portal and electronically read/sign the telehealth consent form. Just click on My Docs & Forms, and you will see it there.

Telehealth is a simple, straightforward, and effective process, and new clients are welcome. You can use any internet-connected smartphone, tablet, or computer (wi-fi connections will often provide a better experience, but sometimes your cellular data connection will be faster). After you have scheduled your first telehealth appointment, you will receive a secure message in your client portal with the reusable link to my telehealth platform. No additional login is necessary, just make sure you click on the link a few minutes prior to your session, enter the client's first and last name, and then wait for your session to begin.

For your session, make sure you are in a quiet, private place where you will be able to devote your undivided attention to therapy for 45 minutes. You may wish to use earbuds to help protect your privacy – that is up to you.

All payments will be accepted via your card on file, Venmo, or through your client portal.

If you have any questions or concerns, let me know, and I will do my best to help.

*Couples Please note:  I am not accepting new couples clients at this time.*
