Jeff earned his B.S. in psychology from the University of California, San Diego and went on to complete his M.S. in counseling at San Diego State University. During his years there, he worked with at-risk youth and their families, collaborating with their schools and other service providers to help them change self-destructive behaviors and develop positive plans for their futures.  Prior to founding Eastlake Community Counseling, Jeff worked for PsyCare, Inc., a group mental health practice that includes therapists, psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists.   Jeff has also completed all three levels of training for Gottman Method Couples Counseling.

Jeff's diverse experience includes working with couples, families, teens, parents, gay/lesbian individuals and couples, victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, as well as interfaith, multicultural and blended families.  He works with patients with all types of diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, helping them work through personal crises and develop long-term coping skills and relationship strategies. His treatment style emphasizes cognitive-behavioral and humanistic interventions as well as parenting strategies and interpersonal/relationship skills.

Jeff is caring, knowledgeable, empathetic and passionate about his work and he is dedicated to helping clients experience positive, long-term changes in their lives.
